Baba Bikas

Baba Bikas started tattooing as a kid in Nepal, in his home town, Hetauda. A youngster, he was already doodling on his friends and family's skin. In Nepal, tattooing is an old tradition, and he took his first needles to tattoo the neighborrood.
After a while in the fashion business, Bikas decided that he needed more art in his life. He chose the tattoo life.

In 2005, he opened Grasshopper Studio, in Thamel.
In 2009, he opens Funky Buddha Tattoo Studio. During his travels, Bikas, always looks for new ways to improve his art. In 2010, during a trip to Thailand for Pucket tattoo convention, Bikas learned bamboo technique.

When he is not tattoing, he likes to play the didgeridoo and djembe, planting trees in the mountains, or just enjoying jungle life.

When he is not at work in Nepal, he enjoys travelling. He has spent a few seasons tattoing in Goa, India.

Along with great foods, drinks and music, Funky Buddha also offers quality tattoo work, as well as piercing and dreadlocks.

The artist is Bikas Gautam, who also runs Grasshopper Studio in Thamel. Bikas has been tattooing professionally for the last 6 years. He has worked in Nepal and India, with seasons in Goa.

So, whether you are passing by Nepal, or live in Nepal, stop by for a drink, good food in a relaxed setting.
